Create button on spreadsheet when clicked record date stamp in the next column

Hi everyone new to the forum,

im encountering difficulty when trying to approach this method I am trying to create as said below any help or ideas will be appreciated

Ok! straight to the point im trying to create a button on my spreadsheet as I have to update it every month
and I need it to record it every time I click it and date stamp in the next column... so lets say I take 3 columns

1 for the button to sit in, 1 for the first date stamp to go into once clicking the button, then the next time I click it
the previous date recorded in the first cell moves to the next cell and replaces the first cell with the date when pressed.

so I am trying to show the last time I updated it and then the date before that and then when clicking this button the info moves along erasing and replacing the oldest record etc...

im not sure how to approach it whether it would be a macro or VBA any help as I do not know how to do it it has to be in the excel spreadsheet not a form so not sure if its possible, so Id be using 3 columns date stamp button, updated and last updated
