how to create a production schedule

    Hello all,

Please be gentle with me. I'm very much clueless when it comes to excel.

Ok so I've had a promotion at work and I'm now part of the production team

I'm looking for a programme or excell coded type of affair where i can....

    1. Tell it how many parts are required. And after telling it how many i can do in a day it will tell me how many days untill completion.
    2. Tell me how many days I'm infront/behind after telling it the completion due date.and of course be able to tell it how many have been done already and the required quantity
3.be fully variable so i can change due day/amount per day etc as this is not always the same.
    4. I would like it also to be aesthetically pleasing.

    Thank you very much

Easy is a relative term. It is possible. However, we are probably going to need a lot more specific information to assist you though.

Could you submit an example workbook describing your process with before and after examples.

Re: how to create a production schedule

    Hello freemason,

    Welcome to the Forum.

No, it will not be easy, if you are "very much clueless when it comes to excel". Having said that, even for quite advanced users of Excel, with a good understanding of VBA Coding as well, it can turn into a very daunting task.

What you require sounds like a fully integrated MRP System, inclusive of Bills of Materials, Multi or Single Level, Production Capacity, Planning Horizon, Lead Times, Stock on Hand, etc., etc..., to name only a few.

In my honest opinion, you would be far better off by aquiring a stand alone program for just that.

    Regards
