sending email reminder in Excel

Hi to all. I am new in this forum and have a problem with excel and hope you guys can help me in my work.
I have a worksheet and below are things that needs to be done

1. We have a due date and a notification should be sent to my email or should be prompted 1 week before the due date to be reminded that the approval should be seek before due date. There's a column next to the date which contains approved or not yet approved

2. Once reach the due date and still not yet approved, new notification will be sent to my email or reminder will be prompted on my screen that this is not yet approved.

3. If still unapproved, notification will be sent to my email or prompted on my screen on weekly basis until it is approved.

Can anyone advise me if this 3 conditions are possible in one worksheet? Can this be done on normal excel conditioning or macro is recommended? ANy suggestions or better idea would be appreciated. I just really need this on my job
