I am trying to record a macro that will allow me to move text in Column G to Column H without losing the existing text in Column H. Also, I want to do this through out my worksheet.
Thanks,
Cliff

Not sure if I understood your question, but what are you trying to do is simple copy and paste column G to column H?

Thanks for your replay. I am trying to move text to the next column, but when I paste it to the 2nd column it deletes my existing text in column H.
Are you trying to concatenate?

Hi John, sorry I am just getting back to you today, again. I tried your macro and as I told you earlier it worked, but the macro did it throughout the whole workbook. I thought I wanted to do each row one at a time. After I thought about it, what you did may be a better idea than my original hope. I did noticed that the text that moved to Column H from Column G was at the bottom of the row below the existing text. My information that I am transferring is by date and if I could put the latest text from G to go the top of H that would be even better since it is dated (my text that I want to transfer looks like this: 1-6-14 WILSON STEAM BLX 105S 3/8-N ENDURO PRO/SENS #65. There maybe multiple lines in Column H just like this one but earlier dates.
Amigosu, thanks so much again for your help. I tried and worked a little with your macro and it worked. Thanks. It moved all text from Column G to Column H. Initially I was thinking of doing it on each row, but like your idea better. Is there a way to put the text that I move from Column G to H at the top of my text not at the bottom of the Column H text? My text that I have in Column G looks like this: 1-6-14 WILSON STEAM BLX 3/8-N ENDURO PRO/SENS #65. Since I have the date at the beginning I would like to have the latest date at the top of Column H then descend to earlier dates.

Hi John, thank so very much. That macro works. It put the most recent text to the top of the column H. What if I wanted to use a macro to just move 1 row at a time instead of the whole workbook. Is that possible? Also, if it is not too much trouble I would like each of my Column H text rows to look like this:
1-7-14 wilson steam blx 99s-u enduro pro #57
1-5-14 bab ap dr 100 -u enduro pro/sens #58
But now it looks like the following 1-7-14 wilson steam blx 99s-u enduro pro #571-5-14 bab ap dr 100 -u enduro pro/sens #58
Thanks again,
This should separate the values
This will operate on the activecell only? Not sure what you require for 1 row at a timePlease Login or Register to view this content.

Hi John, Thanks for replying, again. The question you asked about why I would want to move data in just 1 row at a time is because in 1 worksheet, I have data in a row until someone returns my test racket. When they return the racket I can then move the text to the next column. This way I know what rackets are out and when they are due back. Also, thanks for the macro to separate values. What I would like to do is put each date first and on just 1 line. Is that possible? Thank you so much for all your help.
"I delete this data when racket is returned in column "F"
Date to be returned : 1-8-14 Wed 3pm"
"This is Column ""G"" in my workbook. I will move this text to ""H"" when person brings back this racket. I will then delete the date it is due back
