extracting chinese text from cell

Hi,

I have to deal with an export from a program which does not support csv files or anything I know how to use easily. It's about a vocabulary export. I was able to extract some data using the len and left function in excel but now I don't know how to proceed.

I want to extract the chinese writing in one cell and the english style written chinese words (pinyin) in the other

I know that it is always 50 Characters till the first word I want to extract and that it is 7 words from the left where the second term ends. Can I let vba search for the <br> and second </span> or something?

Found the solution using only formulas.


first I used right and left formula to get rid of the outer stuff and then the combinations of left+find, right+find. No Idea why I did not see this earlier ^^
