Add worksheet to drop down list

I have a workbook with 40 worksheets that was created by someone else for me. He is no longer available. The sheets are named with peoples last names. Each sheet has statistics in 15 rows. On a "stats" sheet I pull in the names I want with a drop down list. I have another drop down list that lets me choose which row(s) I want included with the names I have selected. I have added a new sheet and don't know how to add that sheet to my drop down list of names. Any help would be appreciated.

Look what is the source of your dropdown and add this name there (could be in a range in a sheet, in named range in a hardcoded list, external file, ... wherever).

Thank you for the speedy reply. I know very little more than the basics of Excel. I don't know how to check the items you mentioned, sorry. This workbook is 384kb in size. Might I upload it to you? Not asking you to work on it, just let me know where to look to fix it. Thank you.

I am not sure about size limits, but I'd assume - yes, 300some kb shall be possible.

Anyway, it is worth to make extra copy of your file, delete delicate data (if there is some) and leave only limited data subset - probably in each sheet there is plenty of data, while the issue of selecting datasource by sheetname could be solved on a subset of it. May be just first 3-4 rows? The next thing - check if filetype is xls. Saving as xlsx would result in substantially smaller file.

Re: Add worksheet to drop down list

Thanks again for your speedy reply. Problem has been solved although I'm not sure how. I deleted some sheets as you suggested, leaving the sheet with the name I wanted to add to the drop down list. I thought I'd check the list of names just because and the new sheet was listed there. It is also there wherever I need it. So I hid one sheet, checked the names and it was there, un-hid the sheet and the name is still there. I know there is a filter but I don't know how it is set up. Manipulating the sheets the way I did must have had an affect on the filter? I thank you so much for your assistance.

    Thank you.
