Counting Items selected from a drop down list

I have created three dropdown lists on a separate sheet and Validated them. (B, D, Dessert) these list are for 18 people M-F. As they pick their choice from the drop down list each day I want a total for each item after they have completed their selection for the week. How can I do this?

Hi,

You need to keep count of items in the dropdown in other sheet and then need to increment the same when it got selected.

Eg : When Item1 is selected, Sheet2 will have Item1 = 1, Item2 = 0.
AS you can see, when Item1 is selected, its count on sheet2 got incremented.

Is the same cell the 1 you want to keep total of? If so, you will need VBA for that.

If you have a whole column if cells that will be changed, 1 after the other, with each passing week, then try the =SUM() function
