    Copying formula to another sheet

How do you copy paste a formula from sheet2 to sheet 1 but still exact same formula.

so in sheet2 B1:B4 I want to copy this formula (=(LEN('Live Meta Data'!B$1)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE('Live Meta Data'!B$1,A1,"")))/LEN(A1)),
so How do I paste it to sheet1 A1:A4 but same formula ?

Sorry, that can't work because the formula in sheet B1:B4 it is crawling on different rows in the third sheet, so I need to know how to copy B1:B4 right away not one by one.

Ok not sure if this will work but if you add Sheet 2! before all of the "A1" to Read "Sheet2!$A1" and add the dollar sign before the B in the meta data. You can copy and paste it to sheet 1 the normal way.

the formula would look like this

Re: Copying formula to another sheet

I understood you very well, thank you, but my data is much more than just 4 rows... like thousands...

But I think I've figured this out by just simply using a vlookup formula.

    thanks

Re: Copying formula to another sheet

Assume the formula is in sheet 1, cell A1. Highlight A1, Copy (Ctrl+C) it, go to the cell in sheet 2 where you want the formula to go and Paste (Ctrl+V) it. Excel will adjust the formula to =Sheet1! A1.
