Can't Access Files even with Administrator Priv on Win 2007

I've got "Show Hidden Files..." on in my Folder View Options. My user has Administrator privileges.

I need to access certain files from time to time where I get this message: "file is not accessible. Access denied".

So how do I get access to these files.

Tnx,
Mac

Have they given you access priviledges?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Thanks for the reply, FDibbens.

Yes, I have given myself Administrator privileges as it's my computer.

Looking at the Security Tab when I've selected "Mac(Big_Mac\Mac)" {which is me}, I see check marks under "Allow" for every category.

If I click on "Advanced" to see the "Special Permissions" and select the line with "Mac(Big_Mac/Mac)" on it, it says
"Allow - Mac(Big... - Full Control - C:\Users\Mac\ - This folder, subfolders and Files

I assume from what I've seen that I should have the ability to do anything. But I obviously don't . For instance, when I try to look at the "Local Settings" folder I get an "Access denied" message.

Thanks SHG for the help. Wonder where in Texas you are. I came from Dallas and Austin.

Might the files be in use?

Hi!
Did you check Windows Event log Error Analysis. Its easier to detect errors when you analyse the Windows Application log. You will see the events causing the error.
