When I use Excel, I usually have several different spreadsheets open at once. I open them in a specific order.
If I, or a system glitch, accidently close one and I subsequently open it again, it goes to the right of the view of open spreadsheets when I hover on the Excel button on the taskbar.
How can I change the order of the spreadsheets in this taskbar view, to resemble the original order in which I opened them.
Usually, I have to close them all and then re-open them in my desired order.
Probably best to write a macro to save and close all the workbooks and then open them in the right order.

Thanks TMS, but that is just a workaround. Surely there is something akin to re-ordering sheets within a spreadsheet.
Not something I’ve ever tried but, in theory, you could loop through the workbooks collection and sort them. But, you said "a specific order", not alphabetic, so I don't know how you would move the last (most recently reopened) workbook to the correct position. Further complicated if you managed to close more than one workbook.
Maybe you could have a workbook before close event handler that checks for inadvertent closure. You'd need to set a Boolean flag at some point before a normal close to avoid multiple messages and confirmations when you want to go home.
Thank you TMS, I don´t need anything fancy, a simple click and drag on the offending workbook, like you do with individual sheets in a workbook. When I hover on the icon on the taskbar, I want to see the workbooks in the order I opened them.
Well, I’m guessing you've tried that … without success? If you haven't, maybe give it a go. No PC at the moment so I can't experiment.
