Error says merged cells have to be identically sized - but I'm not merging

I opened a list from a website: http://chfs.ky.gov/os/oig/directories.htm
I wanted to sort by column B, but get this message about the merged cells needing to be the same size? I'm not merging, just sorting!

Any help is GREATLY appreicated!

Select all the cells on the worksheet (do Ctrl+A twice), Home tab > Merge & Center > Unmerge cells

Based on your last post it seems that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received but you haven't marked your thread as SOLVED.
