    terrible non-english translation of forum rules

    I've just noticed the translated forum rules in the non-english part of the forum, and I can say the Dutch translation is aweful. Probably an automated translation I guess, but it really is absolutely useless because it doesn't make any sense... Maybe a Dutch mod can change this? Or I can rewrite it for you, if a mod/admin tells me they'd like me to do so.

    Thanks L-Drr.

    rule 1 should read

    1. use concise, accurate thread titles. ya post title should describe ya beef, not ya anticipated solushun. use terms appropriate to da google chek. mingin thread titles, dig please help, urgent, need help, formula beef, code beef, an' need advice iz gonna be addressed accordin to da op's experience in da forum: if yous as less dan 10 posts, expect (and respond to) da request to change ya thread title. if yous as 10 or more posts, expect ya post to be locked, so yous can start da fresh thread wiv an appropriate title.

    Re: terrible non-english translation of forum rules

    The upload manager is working again, so here's the attachment.

    A couple of comments to go with it:
    • I have translated "thread" to "topic", since there is no standard Dutch word for this, and "topic" is most commonly used for the meaning of "thread"
    • I have not corrected the wrong (or outdated?) info in the rules. I also skipped rule #10, just like in the original...
    • The formatting may have to be recreated (don't know if copying from Word to forum keeps the formatting)
    • The example-code in rule #3 has no formatting, since that's probably unique forum syntax
    • The same goes for the link just under the example-code

    @Leon

    Ik zou voor 'post' 'bericht' gebruiken.
    In plaats van het werkwoord 'posten', het werkwoord 'plaatsen'.
    In plaats van 'gradenstruktuur': 'rangen' of 'rangensysteem'.
    "tags' kun je vervangen door 'markering'.

    Verder prima leesbare vertaling.

    @snb
    'post', 'posten' en 'tags' heb ik zo gelaten omdat dat in het Nederlands intussen ook normale termen zijn (de letterlijke Nederlandse vertalingen kunnen zelfs verwarrend zijn). 'rangensysteem' is wel een goede ja. Maar ik laat het verder aan de admins/mods over om eventuele aanpassingen te maken

    Er zit geen Nederlandstalige in dat klupje, dus kunnen ze er niets mee.

    Some discussion about the contents of my translation.
    @snb since Arlu said the mods n admins are going to review it, I guess they do have some Dutch speaking folks...
