    Notification pop up

How does one go about getting rid of the message box that keeps appearing asking if the forum can send notifications? I don't see it on my desktop but it has appeared at least 10 times today whilst using my phone.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.
    Don

    Re: Notification pop up

    Hi Don
I am not sure if this helps with phones, but
Originally there was a lot of discussion ( moaning ) after this was first introduced..
    http://www.excelforum.com/suggestion...indow-tab.html
Eventually it seemed after you clicked it away once then it should not come up again...
    But I notice:
    _1)
If I am always logged in I never see it.
If I am logged out and accessing the Forum It keeps popping up
I guess it maybe something to do with cookies , memories , Browser Cache or whatever.

I am not quite sure how this works with me ( I am using Google Chrome mostly ) but:
As long as I never log out, then whenever I access the Forum I am logged in, even if I have not accessed it for weeks. I do not know if that means I am permanently logged in or whether by accessing it Google or who / whatever logs me in automatically. In any case I never see the Pop up. If i log out, then later access the site, I am still logged out and get the pop up ( a lot ) . On logging in I may see it once. After clicking it away it never comes up again.

_2) On accessing a site on one computer , (the site I think is related to ExcelForum) , I got a similar pop up all the time. On a second computer when I tried to access the site I got a message first asking if I wanted to block something, which I suspect was this pop up. When I clicked to say “block it” I never got the pop up. ( On the first computer I could never get further unless I agreed to allow notifications )

So I guess it is one of those things you can “block” somehow . Seems to be lots of stuff to find on the internet saying how to do that on a phone

Thanks both. I am using Safari on an iPhone and have not as yet located a means of blocking the popup- I am always logged in too. Perhaps I will try some other browsers, or simply do something more productive on my commute.

    Re: Notification pop up

Can you install Firefox or any browser that accepts the uBlock add-on?
Then use the element selector to block this annoying feature

    Re: Notification pop up

I did in fact install Firefox Focus over the weekend which seems to have cured the problem, as best I can tell. Thank you again.
