Hmm?
China not up there (except Hong Kong, that surely must say something about their politics.), and hey the Japanese must be a pretty clever lot!

Wow, 1.7% visitors from Germany.
Zbor, what time frame does this cover?
Marcol, given that the whole population of New Zealand is half of London residents, or about as many as live in Berlin, it does not surprise me that NZ does not even register in these stats.
I knew there were a lot of Kiwis in London - didn't realise it was all of them.

I'm surprised. I would have guessed UK first followed by USA and then a big gap. Also wondering how it tracks since I'm on autolog-in. Is it another click every time I close the page and then reopen it?

I wonder would would happen to those percentages if there was a built-in board translator so that everyone could communicate with each other using their native tongues.
What's the % of membership by country?
A lot of people never specify where they are from in their profile (i.e. Sweep). I wonder if they're accounted for by their access point somehow or if they're not counted.
I'd wager that the statistics service Zbor used goes purely by IP address, not by the fantasy location people enter into their profiles. So, to hide your whereabouts, it's not enough to enter "This universe" into the location field of your profile, you also need to use a proxy when you surf the web to hide your real IP addy.
I remember seeing some stats a couple of years back for another forum and it was USA and UK in one/two, I've checked that site again and the UK is also now third in that. Times change...

Just use Google Translate. Sure the owners could probably install a mod that integrates buttons that connect to Google Tranlsate, or some other service, but the owners have shown unwillingness to make user-requested changes in the past. In this case, though, I can see why they didn't install such a mod. Google Translate is really a very handy and popular tool, that simply rests at the top of the browser while you navigate around the web, instantly translating whatever page you are on. Why should the owners spend their time on something that is so quick and easy to do without any effort on their part?

That said, one reason they might be inclined to do it is because other forums this one directly competes with have started to. All else being equal, why would someone who wants to post in their native tongue use Google Translate to contribute on this forum, when s/he can just do it directly in-thread elsewhere?
My point (or more of a rhetorical question I was throwing out there) is whether or not the general domination of native English speaking countries would decrease if language was not a barrier. Perhaps not - perhaps many more Excel users do speak English.
The general trend of the current numbers does not surprise me.
I've come across a couple of foreign language Excel forums so I guess French, German, Spanish speaking users may be catered for elsewhere.

Yeah, I know there are some big German forums out there - bound to be some big Japanese ones too.
