    Why not just write:

and best not to use ThisCell as a variable name.

Could even be a new error 1234 "Something is wrong there"
or replace the hour glass "Something's happening."

In this case iserror() can be read as isnothing()

Methinks you'll have to wait for VBA.Net for that.

lol I think that too, is that even in the pipeline?

Would be good if they'd fix needing to know the printer port in Excel when printing too, that drives me nuts

Not that I am aware of, though even if I knew, I couldn't say.

As there are simple workarounds for the port issue, I can't see that changing.

haha fingers crossed then, but I can't see it happening

What's easiest workaround you've found? Right now I'm reading from the registry to get the list of printer ports and names.

It's still somewhat annoying that you don't have to do this in Word VBA though

@snb, unfortunately that doesn't return the "NE01:" etc

Not hard to build as long as you don't mind memory leaks...

I've never tested it, but perhaps DAO doesn't have the same memory leak issues as ADO?

hmm, interesting might be worth a check methinks.

Still a bit of a pain though writing the code though when I just want to query a dataset

Can't you use filters if the workbook is open?

Coincidentally, this bug just cropped up on a thread and, since everything was happening in the one workbook, I recommended the advanced filter as an alternative.
    Hope that helps,

Re: Features I would like to see

Interesting thought and quite possibly showing my ignorance, but I'm not sure how I'd do the below with a Filter - wouldn't it need an advanced filter as well?

I know there are 101 ways to do it, but 1 query would be nice

Re: Features I would like to see

You can't do that with the advanced filter either because it is aggregating. You could do it with a pivot table though.

    Advanced filter is a filter...
I'd use a pivot table for that.

Is your code running too slowly?
Does your workbook or database have a bunch of duplicate pieces of data?

I don't recall saying anything of the sort. I simply questioned what made you think that 2 constituted a majority in the Excel programming world.
