Forum response time is terrible today...are we having issues?
I don't have response time issues on other web sites so I'd guess it's not my Internet Connection.

Been molasses for me all day, some molasses slower than others. I've sent up a request to check, but it's the middle of the night overseas.

I would like to make a formal request for a new feature to be added to the site before fixing and cleaning up the mud. I think that will help!

My responses today seem much faster. Thanks.
Not so bad today although I got 10 notifications of Arlette's last post.
@ romperstomper,
That happens on my side also. Reported it, and the response, "The matter will be looked into", or something along that line. No use complaining, so I just live with it.

My responses were much improved today...however, I'm experiencing multiple instances of the same response to subscribed Threads.
The site seems muddy to me today and double posting is back! Yay, good times.
To be honest, and fair, I had no such issues today, and I have been on and off the site a couple of times.
Maybe it could have something to do with ISP connections, protocols, compatability and so forth?
Just taking a wild guess here, as I am not technically inclined whith all the various Platforms.
Hi Winon, I don't think those are the problems. This is not the only forum I am on but is the only one with issues. And, this is the only one with historical problems of lag and whatnot.
No, I have to agree with Mordred, the problem appears to be server-related, and seems also to come and go. It's been ok for most of today, but the past hour or so has been not so good again
I've also experienced hit or miss today...
Yes, now I tend to agree. I have just received a duplicate notification of Mordred's post.
@ FDibbins,
Hi there,
I think you are Spot-On again.the problem appears to be server-related, and seems also to come and go
I can also concur that I have the issue with lag, except when I do not.
Bold statement JB. Has anyone notice duplicate posts after someone else responds?

So weird? I also hate when I click 'Post Quick Reply' and it takes me to the advanced editor. I know my connection is bollocks then.
Thanks,

"Slow is smooth, smooth is fast."
That would be a new wrinkle? Does the duplicate appear with noticeable time difference between the original and the duplicate with an answer in between? I'd think perhaps the OP was experiencing the lag and refreshed their "submit" long after it had actually completed and the screen not redrawn yet. Maybe?
Twelve minutes http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...s-command.html
Yeah, I'd say they're screen froze, even though the post itself was fully registered on the forum, they didn't get a screen refresh. 10 minutes of distraction on something else, then come back and manually refresh, double post results. Rare. But I've done that myself once or twice over the past 5 years.
Ahhh... the oddities of posting on forums
Sometimes I think my connection would be faster if I paid a guy to walk back and forth with an envelope.
Long walk to California and back. I'll take the forum, lag and all.
Well shoot if the servers are in Cali maybe I'll pay myself to walk there.
The EF response was very slooowww today. Out of pure frustration, I opened another tab in my browser, which by default is set to Google. Left it there and returned to the EF Tab. All of a sudden, things are almost normal.
As soon as I close the Google Tab, things slow down quickly again. I fail to see any connection with this phenomenon.
Do you use Google Chrome? Maybe its a marketing ploy by Google :D
No, just Google, not Chrome. But I promise, tried it a couple of times, and it seems to work.
