Some Excel VBA Tips & Tricks from my closet

I have decided to create a file of some VBA code 'Tips/Tricks' that I have compiled over the years.

Most of it is non looping vba code that normally performs pretty fast.

Depending on the responses received, I may release additional versions with more VBA code.

I have purposely made most of the sections code longer than it would normally need to be to try and 'super' explain each section of code for people that are not very familiar with VBA code. The people that are familiar with vba coding should easily be able to delete/consolidate a bunch of the code snippets that I have provided.

    AnyWho, here it goes:

Johnny, thanks for this, Im sure many will find it both interesting and useful.

To all members reading this, please note that these are purely Johnny's notes on how he does things. They are not intended to be the be-all, end-all way of doing things, so please keep this in mind when reviewing this.

Geesh, with that introduction, it sounds like you have some disagreements to what I posted. I never stated that what I posted was the 'be-all, end-all way of doing things'.

Care to elaborate on what topics you are taking issue to? I welcome any suggestions to do things simpler/faster.

Johnny, no, not at all, apologies if it came across that way.

I was merely trying to forestall any posts with "you way is wrong, I do it this way" type of posts.

With formulas (my strong side), there are multiple ways of getting to the same result, and many people have their "favorite" way of doing things, and may consider other's methods slow/inefficient/bad/etc. VBA probably has even more people that this "this way" is better than "that" way. I was just trying to say that these were your way of doing things, and that others may have different views on how to tackle the same situation.

    (hope that clears things up?)

Hey johnnyL. I don't post often but I've been a member for about a year now. I found this site researching on how to do a vba macro. I'm really looking forward to going over your tips & tricks file this weekend and hopefully add to my vba knowledge.

johnnyL, not really. It took me a bit to figure out where the code was on all the windows that popped up when I opened the file. I'm best described as a end user, not a programmer. I apologize for not posting until now.

What do you mean 'All the windows that popped up'?

There should only be one sheet with a bunch of links on the sheet. When you click on a link, it should open a sheet with the code for that link, at the top of that sheet is 'Back' link to close that sheet and go back to the main sheet with all of the links.
