Multiple Headers, Same Footer-Section Break Issues

Hello All!

I have a policy document I am trying to format for my company. The first page has a unique header and static content (its a signature page). I have a section break at the bottom of this page because the content will never change.

I need page 2 to have a header and subsequent pages to have no header. I selected "Different First Page" for this section so that I can have a header on page 1 and nothing on the rest.

All of this was easy to set up, the problem I have encountered is that the footer on page 2 is independent of all the other footers. Even when "Same as Previous" is selected, page 2's footer won't link to the rest. Every other page's footer works great.

I'm trying to avoid an additional section break on page 2 because there will be low tech-literate coworkers using the template, and I don't want them to have to deal with the section break being pushed to another page and wreaking havoc.

Any thoughts?

Worst comes to worst I can leave instructions to modify the page 2 footer as well as page 1, but it's really inconvenient.

Each Section in a Word document has three independent header & footer objects - primary, first page, even page. If you use a 'different first page' layout and you want the same content to appear in both the primary and first page footers, you need to add it to both. For a template whose documents may or may not have multiple pages in the second section, you can do this by using Ctrl-Enter to temporarily create a second page, adding the required footer content, then deleting the temporary page break.

Make the first page header or footer different from the rest of the pages

Use no header or footer on the first page

Make the header or footer different for odd and even pages

Make the header or footer different in each section or chapter

Change the contents of a header or footer

Insert a page number

Insert the file name of the document

Insert the document title, author's name, or other document property

Insert the current date

Remove the header or footer
