Checkbox works if Form source is a Table, but not with a Query ??

    Hi Forum,
I've created a Continuous form and the source is a query. When I try to click on a Checkbox, there is no change?
I've got the correct properties & the Checkbox is connected to the correct control source coming from a table in the query.

As a test, I created another form but this time based it on one Table, it works fine?
Is there a limitation in MS Access that I don't know about for Checkboxes on Forms with queries as a source?

I've run the query with the filter on the checkbox & it works fine.
    Any helpful suggestions welcome.
    Thanks

i use checkboxes in queries. it does work.
Is the field : yes/no data type?
and the chkbox bound to the field?
and the query set to dynaset?

now SOMETIMES in a query, if you join tables, it can make the recordset READ ONLY so you cannot update any field, including checkboxs.
depends on the table & keys joined.

    Thanks ranman256,
I've checked those details & they're all correct.
Where do I check for Read Only?
I've attached the DB file to show where I'm up to.
    Thanks

Re: Checkbox works if Form source is a Table, but not with a Query ??

    Hi Again,
After some testing, I found that the query derived from several tables with a checkbox won't work
but a query made on a single table will allow the checkbox to work?
I tried creating a query using several tables, then create a 'Make Table' Table to be the source
for the Form - still doesn't work.
Can anyone advise what the difference is for Access when using multi tables with a Checkbox vs
using a single table with a checkbox?
I think the problem is at the query stage as the query needs to have a working checkbox before it
can be used on a Form.
I've also found this option from the Internet where a Text Box uses VBA to select the records.
I haven't been able to transfer it to my DB as yet though.
It's attached to this post as 'FakeCheckbox1'.
    Thanks

Here's the DB file I was referring to.
    Thanks.
