    calculating fields in pivot tables

Hello. I have two fields in my data. Total claims volume and total claims amount. I would like to include a field of volume/claims amount which would be average claims. How can I do that in the pivottable (obviously, I could just add it to my data). Thanks.

Re: calculating fields in pivot tables

    1) Click on your Pivot Table
    2) Select the Options tab on ribbon (this only appears when you've selected a Pivot Table)
    3) Click on then Fields, Items and Sets option and select Calculated Field (this is used to create that nonexistent column of data using a formula)
    4) Name the new Field "Average" or "whatever you want"
    5) Create your formula using the field names offered below, it's really easy. =Volume/Claims Amount
    6) That field is now available in the list of field names you can add to your Pivot Table display.
