Vertical axis formatting: How do I keep chart Axis Y consistent for several charts

    Hi all,

I'm just dealing with the following issue I would like to share with you:

    - I've got several charts having the same content of horizontal axis (the same period of time), but different vertical axis
    - Each chart shows the FOREX exposure for one currency and therefore differs in values

    - The challenge is to make sure one can quickly compare the situation without examination of the numbers
=> Therefore I would need having "0" value every time on the same spot on the vertical axis, so that one can quickly see if the current state is positive or negative.

Would any of you had the idea how to set up such charts (vertical axis)?

I would be very grateful for any answer

    Thank you!

If I understand what you are doing, I think a panel chart could be a good solution: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/StackedCharts.html

If you want to have the same Y axis scales for all the charts, you should add a hidden series to each chart that has two points. One is the lowest value, the other is the highest value of all the data plotted in all charts. When Excel autoscales the axes of all charts, it will see the same min and max in all charts, and thus apply the same min and max axis scale.

I show an example of this in my tutorial Consistent Axis Scales Across Multiple Charts.
