Create Calendar and auto-populate with Excel Data

I have an Excel data sheet with (marketing) activities that flow across 12 months. I would like to take that data and create a calendar, with the XLS data populating into the appropriate month. Right now, I'm thinking of a monthly view (no dates within months....just populating into the month). Envisioning a calendar with Jan-December across the top, scheduled marketing activities in the first column. Is there a way to do this using a pivot table, and having the data populate in the cells (not a count)?

I'm good with pivot tables, not so good with vlookup, etc.

Yes, I guess you can do it with a Pivot Table. Please post a sample template of your workbook in excel format if you need any further help!
