    Pivot or something else?

    Hi,

I have a problem with pivot table.

    I added attachment.

    From table like this:

Company Process document 1 document 2 document 3
Google Process 1 lack lack send
Google Process 2 send lack lack
Microsoft Process 1 lack send send

I would like to get table for report like this:

Company type of lacking documents Count of documents
    Google Document 1 1
    Google Document 2 2
    Google Document 3 1
    Microsoft Document 1 1

    Can anyone help me please?

    I will be grateful,
    thank you in advance,
    Jacek Antek

    Hi,

I fear your layout will not work for your requirements. Your table requires normalising before it can produce what you need. The ideal table would have 4 columns:
    Company
    Process
    Document number
    Status

and there would be multiple rows for each company and process combination - one for each document.

    Company Process Document number Status
    Google Process 1
    1
    lack
    Google Process 1
    2
    lack
    Google Process 1
    3
    send
    Google Process 2
    1
    send
    Google Process 2
    2
    lack
    Google Process 2
    3
    lack
    Microsoft Process 1
    1
    lack
    Microsoft Process 1
    2
    send
    Microsoft Process 1
    3
    send

This will then permit you to create the required pivot table:

    Status lack
Company Document number Count of Process
    Google
    1
    1
    2
    2
    3
    1
    Microsoft
    1
    1
    Grand Total
    5
    Don

    Re: Pivot or something else?

Thank you stasinek for yor solution.

The problem with query is that you have to have this addition installed on your computer.
Method from the link above is better - it can be used everywhere without installing any adds.

    Best Regards,
