Paste a Rotated Chart into Word from Excel

I'm trying to put a line chart I have created in excel 2013 into a word 2013 document. I need to use paste special and link the chart as it's for a journal and all the paste picture options make the chart look blurry. So far I have managed to paste the link into a textbox and after much faffing around have rotated the chart and got the size about right but I have a grey boarder surrounding my chart that I can not get rid of. There is no boarder in the original excel chart but if I add one in the excel chart it appears in exactly the same place as the grey boarder I want to remove. Can anyone shed any light on either a better way to get a crisp image of my chart into a word document and rotate it by 90 degrees or remove the grey boarder lines?

Yes, there is also no boarder in the word document.

Try this. I don't think you need a rotated text box to hold the chart.

Instead of rotating the chart in Word, rotate the Word document page to landscape, then paste.

Switch to layout view.
At the end of the page before the page where the chart is to be pasted, insert a section/page break.
From the next page, click on the 'Page Layout' tab on the ribbon.
In the lower right corner of the Page Setup section is a tiny right angle with arrow icon. Click on this to icon to bring up the 'Page Setup' dialog.

On the 'Margin' tab of the 'Page Setup' window, change the 'orientation' to Landscape', and at the bottom of this tab, change 'Applies to:' from 'Whole document' to 'This point forward'. Click OK.

Copy your chart from Excel, and paste it on the landscape oriented page with Ctrl+V.

Insert a new section/page break after the chart and change the page orientation back to letter from 'This point forward'.
