Can you lock a sheet that has a dynamic (checkbox) chart and still use the boxes?

I've got a nice chart that has up to 10 series, made visible by checkboxes.

The chart sits atop all the data (which is filled & colored to be hidden).

I'm trying to lock the sheet so any accidental moves do not violate the cells under the chart as well as their data.

But, regardless of the 'lock' or 'lock text' settings on the check boxes, it seems the cells they point to (the true/false controllers) are not allowed to change accordingly--ergo, the sheet is locked from being functional.

Do I need to move the chart to it's own sheet? It seems that even if I do that, locking those true/false reference cells is going to produce the same error.

Well, I did some reading, and it appears you cannot lock the referenced cell from a checkbox. Otherwise, you'd prevent that cell from alternating between true and false.
So, i just hid the cells in question (10 of them) and locked the rest of the sheet. Seems to be safe, unless someone is intentionally snooping around. Thank you for getting back to me though...
