Add legend when using Up/Down bars

I would like to add the legend at the bottom of my chart, but since I am using Up/Down bars and hiding the line series, I don't get anything in the legend box showing the color of my up/down bars.

I have looked all over the internet and the only thing I find in relation to the legend and up/down bars is "next step, remove the legend".....well I WANT a legend. lol Can anyone help?

Cant do much without a chart to work with...

Please see the yellow banner (top of page) and attach a sample sheet.

Re: Add legend when using Up/Down bars

Up down bars are not an actual data series so they don't have a legend entry. Legends only show names of data series, so I don't see any way to add up/down bars to the (built in) legend.

I have seen a tutorial for "make your own legend" rather than using Excel's built in legend. Perhaps this will provide an option you like: https://peltiertech.com/double-legen...-single-chart/

Another possibility, up/down bars are part of making waterfall/bridge charts which can also be made as (floating) stacked column charts (which would automatically be included in the built in legend). See, for example, the stacked column variations here: https://peltiertech.com/excel-waterf...bridge-charts/

Without seeing a sample file, I think the question at this point comes down to a choice between using the same chart type and faking your own legend or using a different chart type and using the built in legend.

Thank you so much. I ended up basically doing the "make your own legend" option. I appreciate your response.
