    Data clock chart

I am working with some datasets which involve weekdays on one side and 24 hours (00:00-01:00, 01:00-02:00, etc) on the other side. I'm trying to make a data clock similar to what you find in ArcGIS, but I haven't been able to recreate the effect in Excel.
The closest I've come is a donut, and while Googling I've discovered you can make at least a 2-layer "double donut". The issue I have is the pieces are still different sizes, such as what you find in a pie chart. Data clocks have fixed width wedges, and the amount in each wedge/bin is determined by color (lighter = lower number, darker = higher number).
My goal is to have 7 rings (each weekday) and 24 fixed-width wedges (each hour).

    Re: Data clock chart

My older version does not support whatever chart type you are trying to use, so I could not see the chart you have tried.

Searching for "Data clock chart", I pulled up ArcGis's help page for data clock charts. What I saw was something that I would build using a filled radar chart. Past examples the ArcGis's help page reminded me of:
    Wind rose: https://www.excelforum.com/excel-cha...wind-rose.html
    This one: https://www.excelforum.com/excel-cha...ial-chart.html
    And another one: https://www.excelforum.com/excel-cha...ttachment.html

All three of these used a filled radar chart. The bulk of the work is figuring out how to arrange the data in the spreadsheet to get the desired effect (note that it required multiple data points per wedge to get the effect). Spend some time with those examples, and let us know where you get stuck.
