Add Item to Chart (Add Straight Line, Change Bar Chart Shape, Format Axis)

Hi, i am doing a Time line for my company,

However, i am trying to do some cosmetic work. Please refer to my file

I want to
1) Add a straightline for Today()
2) Change the last bar chart to a Arrow
3) Format the date axis to show 1st day, eomonth and last day
4) Y-axis gap to be smaller without adjusting the bar width.

2) I'm not sure if or how the mechanics have changed in newer versions. In my older version I can 2A) Select the arrow you've drawn -> 2B) Copy to clipboard -> 2C) Select the data point (click once to select the data series, then click again to select just the one data point) -> 2D) Paste the picture onto the bar. In my case, the pasted arrow was quite a bit thinner than the other bars. I expect that if one took the time to try different pictures of arrows in different proportions, one could find a combination that would render an arrow with a similar width, but I did not bother with the trial and error process.
3) I know of no build in formatting options for the axis that will do this. The usual method for this -- similar to adding a vertical line -- is to add a "dummy series" (scatter chart probably) that overlays the axis, then add appropriate data labels to that data series. 4) The only built in way I know to change this is to change the height of the chart area and plot area to get the desired size for each category in the chart, then adjust the gap width property of the data series to get the bar size you want. It shouldn't be difficult, but it may be a tedious trial and error process of trying different combinations of chart height, plot height, and gap width until you find the combination that you like.

Hey. very much appreciated. Thanks very much. But at least there is a straight-line now.
As for the date-axis, why i want to do that is because i find it easier to see if the axis at eomonth or beginning of month, rather than at mid-month.
