Process Behaviour Chart (One line of data) - Any good ideas?

    Hi All

I order to understand data trends I would like to implement a simple process chart template showing the upper and lower process liments, the mean and the trend.

I have read about different types of models and also found some templates. Also I have done some manual calculations of standard deviation (=STDEV).

However, I am simply not certain how to do this the correct way when only have one line/row of data count?

Does anyone have a suggestion of how to calculate correct upper and lower process limits? (I have attached a workbook with data, but I havent included any of my own calculations).

    What I have:
    Data count - Trend line
    Mean of data
    Period - Time of count

    What I am missing:
Process limits correct calulated (Standard deviation).

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Wintheranders.

Have you installed the addins for analysis toolpack?

Go to your options and then addins and then add in manager.

Then on the far right you will see your data analysis button.

Is this what you are looking for?

    Mean 2217.214286
    Standard Error 103.2459738
    Median 2091
    Mode #N/A
    Standard Deviation 546.326341
    Sample Variance 298472.4709
    Kurtosis 2.552482389
    Skewness 1.122075826
    Range 2723

    Hi Steve=True

    Thank you for your reply.

Those are the information that I need. However am a bit in doubt of how to draw the chart.

    1. Should I draw the UCL and LCL using the ="CL"+"standard deviation"*"3" or ="CL"+"Moving Range"*"3"?
    2. In terms of sigma which factor would be the correct to use? I have seen 3 and 2,66 as the most common ones.

    Hope you understand

Regarding the addin I have not been able to find it at my work computer. I am however able to do the formulars manually.
