Pivot table questions

While I love pivot tables, there are a couple of things that have always bugged me, but maybe there are options that I can select to change those. Using Excel 2013:

1. When I create a pivot table, the default headings are "Row Labels" and "Column Labels". That seems like overly obvious, and useless information. Is there a way to have this display the actual column heading from the source data table?

2. When I float my curser around a pivot table, there is this annoying pop-up that attempts to describe where I am on the table. Is there a way to turn this off?

1) You can override the default headings by typing any text into the cell. I'm unaware of a default way to do this.

2) Right click on Pivot table, Select Pivot Table options, go to Display Tab, Uncheck show contextual tooltips.
