Combine data with one common column

    Hello,

I do not have a lot of excel experience. Part of my tasks at work is to combine many sets of data for our clients. We have 2 sets of data. The data on Sheet1 is from our client and will always include First Name, Last Name and Email Address. The second is ton Sheet 2 and is our data from our database and only includes email address and thread.

What I need to do is combine the 2 sets based on the email address. Sometimes we have an email address & thread that was not included with the info from our client and I still need that data too.

I have attached a dummy workbook. Basically right now I sort A to Z both sets then copy and paste them next to each other and manually paste the thread result to the Client provided data. There has to be a better and more accurate way.

Thank you in advance for your help.Dummy Data.xls

Thank you!! yes this is what I need.

Is it complicated to do? I know zero about macros. Yikes I hope this isn't a problem. May I get a set of instructions so I may duplicate the process going forward? I's worth a shot!!

    Thanks so much. Nicole

Is it far different with your actual workbook, if Yes, adjust ranges in the formula......

    Hi Nicole,
Azumi used formulas not macros to solve your problem.
To pull over the email, in D2 is this
    Formula: copy to clipboard

if Mac 2011 accepts it, you can use this shorter formula
    Formula: copy to clipboard

That formula (whichever works for you) can be copied down the column
    In E2 is
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    which might be replaceable by
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Hope that helps.
