=MINUTE(A1) would work. But if you don't want to add a column and you don't need to do any calculations with the cell then you can right click the cells, click format cells, select custom from the list and type in m or mm (whichever is more suitable).
The cell will still contain the time but it will just display the minute value.
What is dd:hh:mm suppose to represent? Date and time? Number of days hours minutes?
FYI there is a custom format [mm] that changes to minutes. Of course if it's date and time you'll have the number of minutes since Jan 1st 1900...

=MINUTE(A1) for a time of 1 day, 9hrs, 37 minutes, 10 seconds gives the answer 37

dd:hh:mm was short for days, Hours minutes
I have several people picking daily, i can calculate how many hrs they pick each day, I can calculate how many hours they pick per week, however this often adds up to more than 1 day in time + hours + min
Im trying to see if there is an easy way to calculate total minutes
custom format [mm] gives total minutes
also
[hh]:mm will allow you to sum to greater than 24 hours
Hope that helps
