Conditional Formatting for whole row based on value in one cell?

Is it possible to use conditional formatting to change the formatting of an entire row based on the value of a single cell?

For example, if I were to look at various presidential data and I wanted to conditionally format all data relevant to Barack Obama such as height, weight, hometown, college, etc, is it possible to format the entire row?



I was looking at the conditional formatting feature and found "Use a formula to determine which cells to format". I think this is where to start. Perhaps it is something along the lines of an index / match to president's name.

Any ideas?

yes it's possible.

You can simply use this formula

=A1="Barack Obama"

then apply it to the applicable rows/columns
