    Formula carry over

I have an Excel spreadsheet that I'd like to use as a template. It contains 2 rows; a header and 1 line. In cells L2 and M2 there are 2 formulas. When I add a new row, the formulas aren't carrying over. From what I can remember in older versions, if I added a new row, the formulas would carry over and update, changing the contents of the formula to update by 1. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I'm fairly certain you are talking about a table. You can create a table by highlighting your data and clicking "Format as Table" under the Styles section in the home tab [excel 2010]. This will make all new rows in the table have the same formulas.

I am using Excel 2011 on a Mac. I cannot find the "Format as Table" under the Styles section. Any ideas where it may be on a Mac? Thanks.
