Adding conditions to alter probabilities in excel?

Hello! I have a question I'm not sure is possible with excel but... It's a beast of a little application so maybe I'm just doubting it. Anyway, I digress!

    I have the following probabilities:

Dog is picked 30% of the time
Cat is picked 30% of the time
Rat is picked 30% of the time
Mouse is picked 10% of the time

And I got the randomizer picking those options like a champ based on their probability of happening! Got that done no problem.

However, I need the ability to alter those percentages by typing... Say--

Mom is Dog and Father is Cat
So now the percentage of dog has been boosted to 50% and cat has been boosted to 50%

Or if mom is Catdog and father is Ratcat

The percentage of dog has been boosted to 35%, Cat has been boosted to 50% and rat has been boosted to 35% (and everyone is an abomination but we don't talk about that because they have feelings, too.)

Been stuck on this and googling like mad for 2 days and can't seem to find it.

Don't think there is a tool for that in excel.
Or may be your Ratcat parallel is rather generating fog then clarifies things.
So may be describe what you want to use it for.
    Best Regards,

    Kaper

Re: Adding conditions to alter probabilities in excel?

Hmm okay let me see if I can.

I'm trying to make a genetics calculator that, when the sire and dam are listed, will raise the probabilities of the markings.

    For example:

    Marking 1: Splashing
    Marking 2: Irish Collar
    Marking 3: Pied

    Marking 1: 40% chance
    Marking 2: 30% chance
    Marking 3: 30% chance

So say the sire is Irish Collared and the Dam is Splashed

The thing I'm trying to get it to do is go through the probabilities of each marking and raise the ones that the sire and dam have.

    So:

    Sire: Irish Collar
    Dam: Splashing

Probabilities after sire and dam have been entered:

    Marking 1: 40%
    Marking 2: 40%
    Marking 3: 20%
