    Drop Down List Interface

Is it possible to have a formula that says if you have this value, you can only select this other cell from this drop down list, however if you have this value, you can only select from this different drop down list.

    I.E.

I have a a sheet that has a column for fruit. If I type in which type of fruit I want to be able to choose a value for the next column that is Type. So If I type into column A, apple, I want a drop down list for the next column B that will allow me to select which type of apple "Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, etc.". If I type into column A, orange, I want a drop down list for the next column B that will allow me to select which type of orange "Valencia, Tangerine, etc.". I want both of these drop down lists to be available in the same column but only 1 of them available at any given time, COMPLETELY DEPENDENT on what value is typed into the first column. Is it possible to set this up using a combination of formulas or some sort of singular formula so that I can choose which drop down list is used for this column depending on what values I type into the first column?

create your lists, name the ranges (appletype, orangetype etc) and use IF statements in the List source box.

You can nest IF functions too if you have more types, E.G
