Average Formula that averages certain cells based on how i filter.

Is there an average formula that will selectively average values depending on how i filter?
Take the attached example sheet. It has ten rows of ten apples and 10 rows of 5 carrots. Averaged all together it is 7.5
If i change the drop down list to only display apples, i would want the average to change to 10 and vice versa.Example sheet.xlsx

Try =AGGREGATE(1,1,D4:D24)

i've never heard of the aggregate formula lol

I want to do min and max too
is there a formula that will work the same way?

Take a look at the intellisense of Aggregate (it can do several functions)

Go in to edit the formula, and backspace to remove the first 1.
You'll get a list of all the stuff it can do.
