I have a badge inventory as attached. I will need assistance of requiring a formula when the serial number of the badge is scanned in tab 1 (Scan) in cell A2, the formula does a search and indicates a check mark on the current date on the badge number in tab2 (Guest).
Not sure if a VBA formula will work well with my objective of excel formula in the cells will do. Please advice.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Now in the Guest sheet change event in the VBE add the following code
Now when you scan or enter a value in A2 the Guest sheet will be updated. You might want yo consider what happens if when a badge is scanned if it's already been issued then the X is removed from the Guest matrix. But I'll let you decide whether that's a worthwhile addition.

Wow. It's PerfectInstead of a "X" symbol is there a way that I can input the check mark like a tick on VBA sir? and how do I remove the check mark if the badge is indeed scanned twice. Many thanks in advance. Learning as I go along in this forum with your guiding method.

Can I check you had mentioned In B2 of the Scan sheet enter the today function. on the excel sheet the function is working but i can't seem to see the formula. How did we manage to hide it so that we can key in the date.
