Cool Worksheet security.

Hi,

I was wondering how to protect the worksheet.
I have used the password but it can be easily hacked and done on five minutes.
Is there any way I could protect my worksheets against it?

Thank you very much for your advice.

simply answer:
5 secs
No
Longer answer:
don't share your files

it is only a matter of time and money

You would need 3rd party software to tighten up security.

I ran into this yesterday researching for another thread; Very Hidden Worksheets is easily done in VBE; it allows the user to hide a worksheet in such a way that it doesn't appear in "unhide" options; it's literally invisible unless you know it's there and how to unhide it in VBE:

Re: Worksheet security.

You can get access to the VBA editor and check if there are any vhidden sheets and unhide it
All protection in Excel has level 0
Excel protection is against green users to avoid any stupid things what they can do, nothing more.

@tim201110
We are talking about sheet protection not a workbook protection.
Of course it's possible to "hack" workbook encryption but it is taking time and money. Will you pay for it?

Re: Worksheet security.

This thread is starting to border on breaking password protection, which s against forum rules. Please steer clear of that subject
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

@tim,

theory:
You set a pass with AES256bit enc. like in your file and go to holiday with no contact to you.
They want open file because there are important info but they forgot pass.
What do you think they will do?

I think you will be fired first

Thats why I said bordering.

OP asked how to protect sheets so no-one can use them. Answer is - excel protection is weak at best, so this currently cannot be done

Re: Worksheet security.

Well...
It seems this is interesting topic.

I know it is easy to hack and it takes literally five minutes.

I have a file to share with people just a demo of the application to give them a taste to be able to sell the full thing.
That's why i was wondering if there is a stringer way to protected.

Thanks
