Display a TRUE value as a tick mark

HI.

I have a sheet in which column A evaluates to TRUE/FALSE. I multiply by 1 to change the result to 1 or 0. My worksheet options do not display zeros.

Columns B,C... use this to decide whether or not to display a Vlookup() result. So in B1 I have =IF(a1,Vlookup(.....)). All is well.

I would like , for purely cosmetic reasons, to display a tick mark for TRUE values. I've tried conditional formatting, but it seems not to give me the option of changing the font to 'Wingdings'.

It seems the only way I can display a tick is via the insert/symbol options on the ribbon. ???

Can you advise me please?

Try this

You have TRUE FALSE in A1
You want the tick in B1

in B1
=IF(A1=TRUE,252,32)
Set the font for B1 to Wingdings

You might also copy a tick from the Character Map application and use it in a custom number format since your 1 values should be the only positive numbers.
