I am trying to have a preset number, ex. 80 in which a list of numbers must average.

I am trying to have a preset number, ex. 80 in which a list of numbers must average. So for example if there was a list of 12 numbers, and one of them changed, other numbers would change so that it would still equal the preset number. Hopefully you understand what I am trying to achieve with this.

    Thank you.

So, you want to recalculate all cells in the array such that their average equals a given constant? Or am I missing something. That's going to be tricky...like, iterative calculation tricky.

Can you attach a sample of your working data, with expected results if possible, just so we are familiar with the structure and what you're looking for.

Yeah, that's exactly what I am trying to achieve. I currently do not have any working data as I am still in the brainstorming process to see if it could potentially be done.

Thank you so much for the response.

    See attached as a "sample".

The "Change" column shows value Changed value in RED, the Recalculate shows new values.

    2 formulae:

    in rows 1 to 9

    =B1+INT(($A$11-$B$11)/10) copied down

    in row 10

    =A11-SUM(C1:C9)
    Attached Files Attached Files

Thank you so much for your response, this doesn't seem to have the functionality I was asking for or I'm just unable to use it correctly.

    Thank you!

Attach a sample workbook (not image).

Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate.

Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
