    If Formula for Cumulative Totals

Hi, hoping someone can help as I'm struggling with my final hurdle

I am creating a workflow type of form.

I am using the current formula which works very well

    =IF(F3<>"",B1)

This is if I place anything in the cell F3 then whatever the value I have in B1 will be placed in my cell

I would like to expand this further so that
if I place anything in the cell F3 then whatever the value I have in B1 will be placed in my cell (as is)
If I place anything in the Cell F4 then whatever the value I have in B1 will be added to the value of the formula above
If I place anything in the Cell F5 then whatever the value I have in B1 will be added to the value of the formula above

    ie my cell is B2
The value in B1 is 1

    If I place an X in F3, B2 will display 1
    If I place an X in F4, B2 will display 1
    If I place an X in F5, B2 will display 1

    If I place an X in F3 and F4, B2 will display 2
    If I place an X in F3, F4 and F5, B2 will display 3

So basically however many X's I have in F3, F4 and F5 will be counted up and displayed in B2

    I hope this makes sense

Thanks in advance for your assistance on this

    Try COUNTIF:

    =COUNTIF(F:F,"X")

Re: If Formula for Cumulative Totals

    Hi Ali

Expanding on this, am I able to have this calculation displayed on another tab? like as a front page reporting statistic?

    Again, thanks in advance.

    Of course you can:

    =COUNTIF(Sheet1!F:F,"X")

Re: If Formula for Cumulative Totals

LOL!!! No need for flowers - a 'thank you' is enough, and I've had that.

If that takes care of your original question, please select Thread Tools from the menu link above and mark this thread as SOLVED. Thanks.
