Question Max spending with budget formula options

Hi, could some please have a look at the attachment. I cannot quite figure out how to elegantly solve this issue.

In this sheet a user inputs a list of things he wants to spend money on (including the price). Then the user input the total budget. The output should then be which items money can be spend on without exceeding the budget.

    Thanks in advance.

    See attached.
I've used one helper column to track running total. Drag it down as far as you like.
    This column will calculate automatically.

    You don't need other columns.

    Formula for display:

    HTML Code:
    Adjust the references as required.
    Does that work for you?

    Welcome to the forum.

If you just keep the 'Sum Value' column, then you can use this in the 'Output' cell:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

You can convert this to a CONCAT function if you want, instead of using the & symbol.

For the 'Sum Value' column, put this in C2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

You can then just double-click the bottom right of cell C2 (select it first) and it will fill the formula down as far as you have entries in column B.

    Hope that helps.

If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.
