    Sub-Category Drop Down Not Working

    Hi,

On the Monthly Report sheet there is a Sub-Category drop down list in H7. It is only available when selecting 'Income' in the Category drop down list in H5.

Can someone please see when selecting other main Category the other Sub-Category lists aren't available?

    Thank you

Re: Sub-Category Drop Down Not Working

I have read the New Notice and decided to close this thread and not make further requests.

I thought this forum was for getting help with Excel but it seems to be very political and may just not be worth it.

    Bye

The message is not aimed at new, or relatively new, users. It is a change of policy and intended for senior members (like me) asking us just to get on with answering questions and leave moderating to the Moderators. That is a significant change and all for the better. I wouldn't give up yet, if I were you. But, your choice ... I don't think there is a better forum for Excel users (and I have contributed to many in the past put only put my effort in here now). Anyway, as I said, your choice.

It starts with especially newer member like me. So it does seem to be aimed at me but I don't think I have done anything wrong. However it seems to be opinion generated by whomever sets the rules.

Maybe this does have great members for resources but life is too short to get upset over what I think are trivial matters.

Cheers to all helpful people on here.

No, you misunderstand … you have done nothing wrong.

… it has become clear that some members (especially newer members) have been confused by "mixed messages" coming from non-Moderators.

You have done nothing wrong - the message is aimed at our senior members. I am sorry that you misunderstood its meaning - it is not an opinion, though, rather an instruction to those senior members to whom it relates to do things slightly differently so that some of our newer members do not get confused.

It doesn't need to concern you at all: we are still here to help!!!

It's not. The message just automatically puts each member's name on it to get their attention. It was not aimed at any particular people. Just everybody.

Thank you for revising the notice. Now I understand that it wasn't intended for me. I will never intentionally break any rules just to let you know.

I hope everyone gets along on here so it remains a helpful and friendly environment.

    Cheers!

Re: Sub-Category Drop Down Not Working

Hey, Billy - nothing about the message has anything to do with breaking rules - NOBODY is being 'told off'.

To be clear, Forum Experts and Gurus are simply being asked to allow the Moderators to do the moderating, and not cause confusion by trying to do it themselves.

Anyway, as you are neither a Forum Expert or Guru, the message is not aimed at you.
