# conditional formatting with specific range and color code

1. ## conditional formatting with specific range and color code

Hi All,
Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend.
I think/hope this is the last help I need with the formulas (considering I've been working on this for a while now, lol)...
With the sample I have attached:
21J008 tab (page 1) (I highlighted it in green) the person will input in the weight under the columns D or J respectively.
It will auto populate below on page 2 Column F52:F90 (I highlighted it green) , there I have columns with percentages 11%-22% columns J-N respectively.

What I need the formula to do is:
With the inputted weight calculate which percentage its closer to and color the cell depending on if its 11% (one color), 15 & 18% (2nd color), 20% (3rd color), and 22% (4th color)
-Optional bonus if you can get the Column F,G,H,I 52:90 to highlight a neutral (5th color) if the number is greater than 0 in Column F52:F90.

Thank you for any help I can get. I am just so amazed how helpful and wonderful everyone is in this forum...

Select range for color 1 (J52:J90) and in Conditional format, select:
New rule,
Use a formula to determine which cells will be formatted,
In box "Format values in which this formula is true", paste this formula:
Formula:
`Please Login or Register to view this content.`

Select ranges for next colors (K52:L90 etc) and repeat steps above changing the first instance of J52 only to K52 and so on.

For the 5th color, select range F52:H90, repeat steps above and use this formula:
\$F52>0

Good luck!

Yay! Thank you so much...Just got off work, but as soon as I get showed and stuff I'll try and let you know. I'm so excited to try this

4. ## Re: conditional formatting with specific range and color code

Hi, so apparently I was tired and fell asleep before I could try it...
so far as I'm trying the percentages formula its working, haven't finished inputting in the rest...

That being said, I tried to do the formula for the 5th color and that one isn't working...any suggestions?

It's just inadvertently missing an "=" The formula should be:
=\$F52>0

With that change it worked for me on your sample workbook.

6. ## Re: conditional formatting with specific range and color code

=\$F52:\$F90>0

I ended us using this and it worked like a charm.

Everything else worked and I can't thank you enough...you completely saved the day. with hopefully the last formula that i need to get a headache over, lol. have a good one

Thank you for the feedback and for the reputation added.
And thanks GeoffW283 for pointing out that "=" sign missing.

You guys have a blessed day!
