Trying to lookup a name and then display total number

I have attached a sample file. I have two sheets. Sheet1 with a long list of filtered names. The sheet2 has all the names (the names appear multiple times). The second column in this sheet is either a 1 or 0. So If I have appname1 I want to see the total number from sheet2. If appname1 has twenty 0s and thirty 1s. The output in sheet1 column C should be 30. I'm getting either a zero or aa ridiculous large number. I would do this manually but i have to do it for several hundred rows.
I tried the following =SUM(Sheet9!C:C,VLOOKUP(A3, Sheet9!A:C,3,FALSE)) and =SUM(VLOOKUP(A3, Sheet9!A:C,3,FALSE))
they did not work
