Index match but show $$ if criteria doesnt exist

basically, in the "recon" tab, im trying to show the opening balances in column G10 down, i used the index match formula, however, if the date doesn't exist, its showing N/A error. For example, in the "recon" tab, you will notice the N/As.

Is there a way to use this formula or a diff formula that shows the balance up to the specified date in column F? The data tab, has the amount and running total columns along with the transaction date.

In the "data" tab, cell N9 is showing a cumulative total, but how can i apply this to "recon" tab, in cell G10 down -- as an alternative formula to index match

This formula looks for the exact match first then looks for the next upper value (date).
