    vlookup not working properly

    Hello All,

I have done a vlookup and it isnt working properly this is what i have done so far =VLOOKUP(H9,sheet4!A2:E10579,2) AND =VLOOKUP(H9,sheet4!A2:E10579,3)

when i am entering results it seems to be producing cells close to my target one. Im wondering whether its because im searching for UK postcodes so letter number combinations

Is there something im doing wrong or is there a better way of doing this

    Kind regards

    ricky

    Re: vlookup not working properly

Try by adding last parameter of VlookUp..

    =VLOOKUP(H9,sheet4!A2:E10579,2,FALSE)
    Regards!
    =DEC2HEX(3563)

    Re: vlookup not working properly

You need the last parameter, parameter 4, to be set to False for an exact match.

    Re: vlookup not working properly

hi ricky. mostly likely, a FALSE or 0 will solve your problem:
    =VLOOKUP(H9,sheet4!A2:E10579,2,0)
    or
    =VLOOKUP(H9,sheet4!A2:E10579,2,FALSE)

that is to find an exact match. if it did not solve your problem, upload a sample file & manually key in your desired results.
