Red face calculating a paid to date for tenants

i have a boarding house that is rented by rooms.
tenants start the tenancy at different times of the week eg 28/10/2013
i want to be able to add 13 days to the beginning date and excel can calculate the paid to date

i have tried it in excel 2007 but i keep getting a #value error. However i have formatted the date cell as date and the number cell

my formula looks like this 28/10/13 (formatted as date english australia) + 13(formatted as number)= cell (formatted as date)

    any ideas would be appreciated

Hard to follow. Let's say the start dates are in Column B and we want this new date in Col F.

    In F3, for example,
    you'd put =B3+13
Are you doing something like that?
    ChemistB
    My 2?

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires
