Angry Use Solver in excel to find a solution to this set of equations.

Consider the following set of equations...
    3x + y + z − u = 9
    13x + 8y + 6z − 7u + 3 = 0
    14x + 10y + 6z − 7u = 4
    7x + 4y + 3z − 3u = 5
Use Solver in excel to find a solution to this set of equations. It is up to you to determine the necessary constraints on such a system.

As with your other problem, it often seems to me that one of the key steps in solving a problem with Solver is choosing a suitable objective function -- the function that you will give to Solver to either a) find the maximum of, b) find the minimum of, or c) find a root of. If this is part of your coursework, I expect somewhere over the course of the course, you have talked about these kinds of problems, how to choose the objective function, and how to eventually put them into Excel and Solver. What are some possible objective functions you can see being derived from these four equations? Which of these possible objective functions seems suitable for helping us find a solution? How would you test these objective functions for suitability?
